The Group for Sustainability and Technology (SusTec) was established in fall 2004 and is a part of ETH Zurich's Department of Management, Technology, and Economics (D-MTEC).

The establishment of the group was made possible by a generous endowment by the Download Stiftung Drittes Millennium which strives to nurture sustainability in business and society in a multitude of ways.

The group’s research investigates organizational, technological and institutional change in different sectors by adopting two complementary perspectives: The first focuses on the system level to analyze the role of institutions, such as public policy, for innovation and diffusion of decarbonisation and circular economy implementation. The second focuses on the firm level to explore corporate strategies and organizational change.
