Karoline is a Science, Technology and Policy master’s student at ETH Zurich with a minor in energy and mobility. In her master’s thesis at SusTec and the Energy Science Center she wants to investigate the effects of tariff design on the efficient integration of rooftop photovoltaics, batteries and electric vehicles into the energy system. Karoline completed her bachelor’s degree at ETH in Environmental Science and wrote her bachelor thesis on the paths to climate neutrality for the Austrian iron and steel industry. She is looking forward to learning how to solve environmental problems through bringing policy ideas on paper (and in equations) through energy system modelling and hopes to gain insights into the possible effects of tariff design on the Swiss energy system.
Beyond academics, Karoline is passionate about her engagement in the climate communication project Klimaplausch, that she started with like-minded and different-minded people. She also likes to listen to the radio, read, go for walks, discover new places in the city of Zurich or take the train to go somewhere else.
