Caterina Croci

Caterina's PhD has the goal of developing a model that combines agent-based modeling and optimization techniques to simulate different net-zero policies and their effects on businesses and industries.

Caterina did her BSc in Mathematics in Italy and her master’s in Computational Science and Engineering at ETH Zürich, where she focused her research on climate modeling and data analysis. For her master’s thesis, which she did at the California Institute of Technology, she investigated the role of satellite observations in calibrating microphysics models in climate systems. For her thesis, she was awarded one of the ETH Medal 2025 for best Master’s thesis in the Department of Mathematics. Additionally, she has been working at a climate risk analytics start-up in Zurich (Correntics AG), where she was involved in data science, data analysis, and software development.

Apart from work, you’ll find her hiking, playing volleyball, and often at the gym. She also loves reading, so she would be super happy to receive recommendations or to chat about your current reads! She's always up for trying new sports or joining fun activities, so don’t hesitate to reach out.
