As part of her PhD, Paula will be working on the SFOE project to develop hydrogen pathways for Switzerland’s energy future, looking at hydrogen value chains, the economic and security implications of different pathways to international hydrogen markets, and the impact on skills and jobs. More to come in the coming weeks and months.
Before joining SusTec, Paula worked at the German Environment Agency on the implementation of CBAM in Berlin. She studied Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration at RWTH Aachen with a focus on production technologies and sustainability in corporations. In her master’s thesis at the Reliability and Risk Engineering Lab at ETH, she explored the role of hydrogen in decarbonizing European hard-to-abate industries. Paula then continued working at RRE to further develop her research into a publication.
Outside of work, Paula loves climbing, hiking and swimming, basically anything that challenges her physically (except running :) ). She also enjoys cooking, painting and reading. If you ever want to talk about research, sports, crime fiction or anything else, feel free!
