Sophie Führer joined Prof. Volker Hoffmann's Group for Sustainability and Technology in June 2023 as a PhD candidate. Her research focuses on facilitating the transition towards a sustainable circular economy in challenging industries.
Sophie completed a master’s degree in Sustainable Technology from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. She first joined SusTec in May 2021 for her master’s thesis on the integrated environmental and economic assessment of circular and linear furniture products under the TACLE project. Apart from her studies, she gained practical experiences during internships at the Download BASF Applied Sustainability Department, Download Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits and the Download Institute for Ecological Economy Research. At sus.lab, she is primarily working on circular economy projects, focusing specifically on circularity in the building industry in the Download CBI Innovation Booster.
In her free time, Sophie enjoys the outdoors hiking with friends and kite surfing.
