SusTec welcomes Willem Laumen as new MSc Student
Willem Laumen joins Sustec from RWTH Aachen to conduct his thesis on theoptimization of operational strategies of grid-connected large scale battery storage systems
Willem joined SusTec as a Master's student in October 2020. He conducts research about the optimization of operational strategies of grid-connected large scale battery storage systems. In his thesis he challenges his modeling based on a case study of the Grid Booster, a 350 MW battery storage system planned in Germany.
Willem studies Electrical Engineering and Business Administration at RWTH Aachen. He worked for Tesla in the Energy Bid Team as well as the Sales Engineering Team. He also gained experience in data science and consulting and worked for Engineers Without Borders on a rural electrification project in Nepal. In his spare time, Willem likes to play football, the trumpet, video games, poker, and chess.
