SusTec welcomes Dimitra Vlaskou Badra
Dimitra will write her master thesis on the topic of timber for high rise buildings.
Dimitra holds a BSc degree in mechanical engineering from ETH Zurich. She wrote her Bachelor Thesis in biomedical engineering at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina in Florianópolis, Brazil, developing a test for the assessment of the performance of pedicular screws. On her return to ETH Zurich for her Master's degree she focused on renewable and decentralized energy systems. In her semester project she investigated the optimal design of CHP plants with thermal energy storage for communities as a PV compensation and grid service provision. She conducted an internship at Lemon Consult AG, where she worked on the EU project hybridGEOTABS and other projects on building technologies related to renewable and sustainable energy systems.
In her Master Thesis at SusTec she is going to evaluate timber as a construction material for high rise buildings.
